Super Shabbat

Today, we had a shabbat meal with our class. We watched a video clip, of how Jewish people have this traditional meal and copied what they did.

We washed our hands before we ate. We put our best clothes on. We lit candles on the table to represent God, which was fun and we said our prayers.

The 'challah' bread that we made earlier in the day was thick, bumpy and tasty. The ingredients for the bread were: eggs, yeast, milk and flour.

Shabbat begins at 6pm on a Friday night and finishes on a Saturday afternoon. If you are Jewish, your father or grandfather will kiss you, to bless you, before you have your wine. We used summer fruit squash for this part.

We had an amazing time and learnt a lot about Judaism.
